We’re longtime followers of the Australian designer Sibella Court, “captain,” as she describes herself, of the “hardware merchants and home goods” line The Society Inc. Lately we’ve been eyeing Sibella’s new collection of utilitarian hardware done over in woven leather and cane, available for pre-order now. Have a look.
Above: The Cutter Pull ($80 AUD) is “a nod to the age old craft of leather braiding,” Sibella writes on The Society Inc. site. “As a drawer pull, the beauty of the leather wrapped Cutter Pull is that the oils of your skin will age it in the loveliest way over time.” Above: Like all of the items in the collection, the more svelte Vienna Drawer Pull ($55 AUD) is designed in Australia and made in India. “A couple of decades ago, when living in TriBeCa NYC, I visited an exhibition on Duane Street of mid-century Viennese designer Carl Auböck,” writes Sibella. “His love of cane, wood, leather, and brass are of endless inspiration, an homage to his many designs that were released in 1954.”

Of the Wyeth, Sibella writes on the Society Inc. site: “This shelf bracket is named after one of my favorite shops in NYC as well as a street on a well-trodden path of mine in Brooklyn.”
